Welcome to Genect – intergenerational community bridging youth and senior citizens to build a more connected, caring society.
At Genect, we are dedicated to building meaningful connections between generations. Our mission is to combat social isolation, challenge ageism, and bridge the gap between seniors and youth. Through fun and engaging activities, we create a space where both generations can learn, grow, and thrive together.

What do we do?
We offer three distinct services to achieve our vision of creating a society where youth and seniors coexist—supporting, understanding, and learning from one another.

Nursing Home Visits
Purpose: Reduce isolation in care homes while building understanding of aging

-
Regular visits that create consistent human connection for residents living in long-term care
-
Activities and conversations designed to stimulate emotional well-being and social engagement
-
Firsthand exposure for youth to the realities of aging, care work, and empathy in practice

Community Events
Purpose: Rebuild social ties between generations in everyday settings

-
Open, intergenerational gatherings centered on shared activities such as culture, crafts, and food
-
Safe spaces where seniors and youth interact as equals, not as service providers or recipients
-
Community-based approach that strengthens belonging and mutual respect across age groups

Education Sessions
Purpose: Build awareness, literacy, and preparedness for an aging society

-
Practical learning on topics like dementia, caregiving, pensions, and life planning
-
Sessions designed to reduce fear and misinformation around aging and senior care
-
Knowledge-sharing that equips participants to support themselves, their families, and society

Impact on the Youth

1. Empathy, Perspective & Human-Centered Values
Direct engagement with seniors deepens empathy, patience, and respect—shaping youth into more socially conscious and compassionate individuals.

2. Real-World Awareness of Aging & Care Systems
Through nursing home visits and educational sessions, youth gain firsthand understanding of aging, caregiving, dementia, and social welfare—insights rarely learned in classrooms.

3. Personal Growth & New Perspectives
Facilitating activities and conversations builds communication skills, responsibility, and confidence. Also inspire them to think about their own old age, helping them to make informed decisions.
